Does your resume highlight your skill sets that are pertinent to the opportunity you are applying for?
We see resumes every day that contain too much irrelevant information. It is extremely important that you highlight your skill sets that are directly related to the job description for which you are applying. Non-pertinent skills force hiring managers to scan through a resume rather than actually read your resume. Make sure that you are keeping track of all your tasks and duties completed in a general resume and then translating that to a targeted resume for each specific role. This strategy will effectively highlight your skills within the space constraints of a resume and give you a competitive edge within the job market.
