Honoring the Power of Mentorship: Insights and Impact Beyond International Mentoring Day

At BGSF, we understand the power of mentorship and how it can transform careers, teams, and lives. Mentorship is not just about guidance; it's about sharing experiences, fostering growth, and building connections that make a lasting impact. This International Mentoring Day, we’re excited to spotlight the many ways our team members can engage in mentorship and the incredible stories of growth and connection that come from these relationships.

Why Mentorship Matters

Mentorship is a two-way street. Whether you’re the mentor or mentee, the relationship fosters personal and professional growth, promotes new perspectives, and creates a ripple effect of learning and support. It’s about building each other up and ensuring that we’re all better equipped to succeed—not just for ourselves, but for our teams, our company, and the communities we serve.

Mentorship in Action at BGSF

✨ Division Mentor Programs BGSF offers mentorship programs designed to support both delivery and sales team members across its divisions. These programs provide tailored guidance and resources to help individuals succeed in their specific roles, whether they are new to the company or seeking to refine their skills. By fostering meaningful connections, these programs empower personal and professional growth, creating a positive impact across the organization.

Adriana Carbonara, Sr. Director of Sales in Milwaukee, shared, "My experience as a Mentor has been fantastic. I feel that helping a new DOS create a pathway to success is one of the most rewarding things I do at BGSF. And I find that I learn as much as the Mentee."

Andrea Wendt, Director of Sales in Houston, reflected on her experience as a mentee, saying, "Adriana was my mentor, and I loved how she helped me work through adjusting to a new company's policies and procedures. She created a no-judgment, safe space for me to ask questions, work through my thoughts, and—most importantly—she let me know she would be available long after our formal mentorship was complete. She was very supportive and encouraging."

✨ External Partnerships

We proudly partner with organizations like Junior Achievement, Tech Titans, and local Chambers of Commerce to connect employees with mentorship opportunities that extend beyond our company walls. These collaborations enable you to make a difference in the broader community while honing your skills.

“With the support of BGSF, I’ve had the opportunity over the past 12 months to serve as an external mentor for several incredible programs, including Nashville’s 30 Under 30, the Nashville Technology Council’s Emerging Leaders in Technology, and the Freeman Fellowship Program at Nashville State Community College. It has been immensely rewarding to help empower others as they chart their own paths to success.” – Sydney Ernstes, Managing Director of Delivery in Nashville

✨ ASA Mentor Match Program

The American Staffing Association (ASA) Mentor Match Program is a game-changer. This platform connects you with industry peers who can provide guidance, share insights, and help you grow in your role.

"ASA's Mentor Match Program is ELITE. I’ve been fortunate to be matched with professionals who pushed me out of my comfort zones because I was specific about the areas where I wanted to grow. I recommend that everyone gets a mentor and clearly communicates what they need. By teaming up with those who’ve already been where you want to go, you gain outside perspectives on how you can become an even greater asset to your role and your team."

Natasha Davis, Vice President, Property Management in Dallas

Let’s celebrate the transformative power of mentorship and the countless opportunities it provides to learn, grow, and inspire. Whether you’re guiding someone toward their goals or seeking support to achieve your own, mentorship is a gift that creates lasting ripple effects across careers, teams, and communities.
