We are proud to announce that BGSF is the Water Station sponsor for the 12th Annual Steps of Success 5K and 1 Mile Family Fun Run/Walk, supporting the Transformation Life Center (TLC), on Saturday, September 10!
The mission of the Transformation Life Center is to Ignite (purpose), Inspire (success), and Transform the lives of African American/Black collegiate students and youth living in underserved communities. BGSF is deeply connected to this event and cause. Demetrius Short, CEO, and Founder of the Transformation Life Center is a former Zycron contractor. This effort was also close to the heart of our dear friend, Darrell Freeman.
“More Than A Race | A Pathway To Success”
Proceeds from the run/walk will help Transformation Life Center (TLC) fuel its mission to ignite, inspire, and transform lives! TLC provides students with resources and programs that can help them develop into future leaders, including:
- Pathway To Success Leadership Academy hosts workshops that bring students together with industry leaders, motivational speakers, and entrepreneurs.
- Black Men Run, Brown Boys Read program connects male African American runners with students. In this after-school program, participants spend time reading and then go for a run to inspire a love of reading and a healthy lifestyle.
Three ways to help create a Pathway to Success:
- Register and join the BGSF Family & Friends Team: Save $5 Off General Registration (3.1 and 1-mile distances) You can run in-person or virtually anywhere!
- Donate here! Any amount helps Steps of Success 5K reach their $80,000 Goal!
- Volunteer at the BGSF Water Station (10 volunteers needed) – Please contact Dennis Waggoner ([email protected]) if you are interested in volunteering.
Thank you for supporting the cultivation of future leaders in the African American/Black community via the Steps of Success 5K! Every step helps these amazing students get closer to fulfilling their lifelong dreams and career goals.
